Come to Court for Bighorn!

November 7, 2017

In October, Western Watersheds Project and WildEarth Guardians, represented by Advocates for the West, filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Forest Service for allowing domestic sheep owned by the University of Idaho, grazed as part of the USDA Sheep Experiment Station, to endanger wild bighorn sheep on the Caribou-Targhee National Forest’s Snakey Canyon and Kelly Canyon allotments.

Next week, we’re in front of a judge to seek an injunction on this year’s winter grazing that risks decimating the South Beaverhead bighorn herd. Read more here.

The hearing on a preliminary injunction in the case will be held Wednesday, November 15th at 2pm.
